Yeshurun synagogue membership is open to all Jews whose halachic status is accepted by the Anglo-Jewish orthodox rabbinate.  Whether your level of orthodox practice is very high, average, or fairly minimal, our friendly Jewish community will welcome you on an equal basis.

If you’re looking to settle in South Manchester and would qualify for membership, we would be happy to use our local knowledge of Cheadle, Gatley and the surrounding area to help you.

Whether you want advice on finding a house in the right sort of area, on local transport links (particularly excellent in this area), on schools, or on local services and facilities, we can help.  Why not browse our Locality Guide or Useful Links for a start.

Perhaps you would appreciate an insight into the nature of our synagogue and community? You can browse through the many Community Activities and Facilities links on the left.

Settling in Cheadle and joining Yeshurun offers:

  • Great area to live – and more affordable than some alternative areas
  • Modern orthodox and Zionist orientated
  • Inclusive for all levels of observance to join in, and feel comfortable
  • Close to Kosher Deli, Kosher Butcher, and a top performing Jewish School
  • Friendly, active and vibrant (regular varied stream of activities)
  • A community where members make lifelong friendships
  • Organised activities for children
  • Pioneer of Women’s Prayer Services
  • Regular Minyanim during the week
  • Other orthodox support organisations locally based
  • Planned Mikveh for those who want

Why not read the stories of some of our members in Experiences for more individual views?

We are fortunate to have a modern minded and learned young Rabbi with a passion for Israel.  Read his message to new members here.

We have special rates of membership subscription for some categories of younger members and also for the first year of membership so you can more easily find out what our community has to offer.  Moreover, with our charitable status, subscriptions can be gift aided.

But we would like to help more.  We have a New Membership Officer who can add personal insights and answer your specific questions.  Just contact our Office now to access this extra help, or to obtain a membership application form and details of subscription rates.
