Rosh Hashana 2009 saw the introduction of beautiful new curtains for the Ark created by Yeshurun member Shosh Lewis, a talented and artistic designer.
The curtains are headed by the phrase “Repentance, Prayer and Charity” in Hebrew and incorporate the seasonal symbols of the Shofar, Pomegranate, Scales of Justice, Book of Life, Apple and Honey, and the Lulav. The curtains are complemented by matching new covers for the Bimah and Lectern.
These have been enhanced by beautiful new Sefer Torah covers in 2012 and 2013 for the High Holy days which reflect similar motifs and the inherent messages of each of the High Holy Days.
