Yeshurun Steam Train Trip

In November, Cheadle’s Yeshurun Synagogue members, with their friends and families, enjoyed an imaginative Sunday trip out with family and friends on the Churnet Valley Railway

One hundred and sixty excited travellers climbed on the old steam train which puffed through the countryside.

Children (and adults) were able to clamber on to the engine where staff explained the workings of the engine, and they enjoyed stops at the lovingly restored picturesque stations. With packed lunches and afternoon tea, strolls through the neighbouring countryside, rounded off with Mincha and Maariv service and communal singing on the return journey, a great day was had by all.
