Some injured Israeli soldiers came to visit Manchester and London in June – stopping for lunch at Yeshurun. The rabbi spoke after the meal and explained the importance of the State of Israel to all Jews in the Diaspora, especially in the light of recent incidents of anti-Semitism. He thanked them for keeping Israel safe and having had to pay the price.
The soldiers representative made a presentation to the rabbi – a silver plated pen holder depicting the walls of Jerusalem.
