Chanukah Party For The Whole Community

Our wonderful Ladies Guild organised a communal Chanukah party in the shul hall, which was attended by over 200 people, young and old.

Entertainment for the children included face painting face painting and a family disco. Everyone had a great evening, especially with the delicious supper served and of course the traditional doughnuts!
You can see the photos by following the link here – but meanwhile here are some of our favourite memories!

Mitzvah Day Is A Huge Success

roll up their sleeves and help make the wider community in which we live a better place, with a large number of successful activities taking place yesterday.

These included:

* Over 100 new toys and books being donated from the shul members which were donated to the Willow Bank Housing Trust in Benchill

* A great bake-off resulting in a huge supply of cakes and tasty treats, which were delivered to Ashbourne Care House in Gatley, the Seashell Trust in Heald Green and St Anne’s Hospice.

*A litter pick to ensure our streets are clean and tidy

* A visit to Allingham House, where the elderley residents were entertained with music and treated to massage and manicures.

* 40 crates of food collected from Sainsburys and delivered to the Wellspring Homeless Centre and the Cheadle Food Bank in Adswood.

Well done to everyone who organised these events and took part in them too – you each showed the true spirit of Mitzvah Day!

Rememberance Sunday

There was a strong mixture of both young and old last Sunday when members of the 5th Gatley Brownies (Yeshurun’s own Brownie pack) attended the Rememberance Sunday march and service at Cheadle War Memorial, along with war veterans and members of the shul community.

Afterwards we held a brunch for the youth members back at the shul – pictured are some of those who attended.
