Women In Judaism Welcome Maureen Kendler

Our Women In Judaism committee were delighted to welcome Maureen Kendler to Yeshurun in May, where more than 60 members heard her talk and lead a lively discussion on “Why we love Ruth – at last, a Biblical book with a happy ending!”

Maureen is Director of Informal Education at the London School of Jewish Studies and used the opportunity to explore the positive aspects that come evolve from what is, at first glance, a sad story.

This event was the Yeshurun Women in Judaism’s 50th anniversary event and was preceded by a celebratory supper for the WIJ committee to welcome Maureen, and was also attended by the Rabbi and Rebbetzen. Pictured below is the WIJ committee with their guest, together with other images from a highly enjoyable evening.
