Liaison

Being there for one another.

Sometimes community means celebrating together. Sometimes it means simply knowing that someone is there when life becomes difficult.

Our Liaison volunteer support group offers practical and personal support to members, including visiting, hospitality, support after Shiva, transport, social contact and help connecting people with community resources.

The group brings together the skills and generosity of our community so that people can feel supported and connected when they need it most.

Chevra Kadisha

Caring for one another at life’s most difficult moments.

The Chevra Kadisha carries out the important mitzvah of assisting with burial according to Jewish law. This is a meaningful responsibility for both men and women, helping families at a particularly difficult time.

Members of the community are needed to help ensure this work can continue. If you would like to learn more about becoming involved, please contact the Shul Office.

Burial Society

Making sure our community is cared for with dignity and according to Jewish tradition.

The Burial Society helps provide religious burial and supports the community through arrangements for the cemetery and Ohel. It also works closely with the Chevra Kadisha and oversees the financial side of the Burial Society through subscriptions and donations.

Security

Helping Yeshurun remain a safe and welcoming place.

Our security team works closely with the Community Security Trust and Greater Manchester Police, keeping up to date with relevant issues and helping the community stay prepared.

The team relies on volunteers. The more people who are able to help, the less often each individual volunteer needs to take a duty. Specialist training is provided, so you do not need to arrive with previous security experience.
